  • What is physical therapy? Does it hurt?
Physical therapy is a healthcare profession dedicated to helping individuals regain movement, reduce pain, and prevent disability. At Body Renovation, we cater to individuals recovering from injuries, surgeries, or chronic pain, as well as those looking to improve their physical performance. By addressing the root cause of physical limitations, our therapists help improve mobility, manage pain and regain independence in daily activities. Whether you're an athlete aiming to enhance performance or someone recovering from an injury, our goal is to empower you to live a healthier, more active life.
  • How do I know if physical therapy will help me?
At Body Renovation Live, our team of experienced and skilled physical therapists will conduct a thorough assessment to determine if physical therapy is the right solution for you. We consider your medical history, current physical condition and personal goals to create your personalized treatment plan. Whether you're recovering from an injury, managing chronic pain, or seeking to improve mobility and function, our holistic approach focuses on addressing the root cause of your condition and empowering you with the tools to prevent future issues.
  • Can I go to any physical therapist I choose?
YES! You hold the decision making power when it comes to your health. And not all physical therapists are the same. Often, doctors, employers, etc. may "advise" you on where to attend physical therapy. It is imperative to get to know your therapist, their services, philosophy and level of care before deciding. At Body Renovation, you work one-on-one with your therapist. Not only on the issue at hand, but also in the event you need additional care. This allows for consistent and progressive care, based on your needs, your history and your goals over time. Plus, at times, you'll be spending a lot of time with your therapist. It should be spent with someone who appreciates spending that time with you.
  • What should I bring to my first appointment?
It's always helpful to arrive 5-10 minutes early to every visit, including your initial evaluation. In addition, consider: Comfortable clothing that allows your therapist to examine your problem areas and you to move throughout your visit. Running/workout shoes, particularly if dealing with a lower extremity complaint. A prescription or referral (if one is needed). Insurance information, if being used. In the case of an auto or worker's compensation claim, bring case manager or insurance adjuster contact names, phone number(s) and claim information.
  • How long does physical therapy last?
Visits are scheduled for 1-hour, with your physical therapist. The number of visits will depend on your injury, your history and your goals. You'll discuss all at your first visit and your therapist will lay out your recommended treatment plan. From there, you'll work one-on-one from visit to visit, modifying your plan as you get better and your goals evolve. We also offer wellness visits for those patients that aren't in acute pain, but prefer the oversight of their physical therapist in general exercise progression. Weekly, monthly, quarterly, annually ... we have seen all levels help our patients stay strong and active.
  • Will I see the same physical therapist every visit?
At Body Renovation, we offer one-on-one treatment with the same therapist at every visit.
  • Does insurance cover physical therapy?
Physical therapy is a well-documented treatment, often offering alternatives to (and saving thousands of dollars on) X-rays, MRIs, medication and surgery. While physical therapy is often covered under traditional health insurance policies, the details will vary. When patient opts to use health insurance, we work as a patient advocate to verify benefits specific to therapy, pre-authorize visits needed, help with disputes and appeals. Just like our therapists walk patients through personal plans of care, our administrative staff helps guide patients through the ever-changing world of billing and payments. Common checks: - Deductible (individual and/or family) - Coinsurance - Copay - Visit limit - Authorization requirement(s), including contact information - Out of pocket limit (individual and/or family) - Term of policy Workers compensation common checks: - Date of injury - Employer - Insurance Carrier - Policy number - Case status - Referring physician - Billing details and requirements - Documentation submissions

No insurance? Extinguished your therapy coverage for the year? No problem! We offer one of the most COMPETITIVE SELF-PAY RATES in the metropolitan Milwaukee area. We have no "a-la-carte" pricing, meaning (most) everything your therapists works on with you during your visit is covered in our pricing. 30-minute / 1-hour session: $120 / visit Dry needling facility fee: $10 / session
  • Do I need a referral from my doctor?
Physical therapists are the ideal provider to oversee your orthopedic care. The State of Wisconsin recognizes this, and is deemed a "direct access" state. This simply means you can see a physical therapist of your choosing without a referral from a physician. If you prefer to use insurance that includes physical therapy coverage, your policy may require a referral from your primary care doctor or other provider. For example, we highly recommend that all patients with Medicare acquire a referral for physical therapy. We do offer to verify benefits on behalf of patients, feel free to call us to discuss your specific coverage. Beyond, in worker's compensation cases, you hold the right to choose your physical therapist, regardless of wha your employer or worker's compensation carrier "advises." These cases do require an overseeing physician, but you still can choose where you receive care.
