Alyssa Pollastrini

DPT, MTC, CMTPT/DN

Originally from Illinois, I am a graduate of the Carroll University Physical Therapy program. My passion for physical therapy stems from having experienced its' restorative benefits while recuperating from a skiing injury in high school. I developed a great admiration and respect for my treating therapists as well as the support and quality of care they provided.

As a certified manual therapist in orthopedics, I focus on providing patients with that same comprehensive, compassionate care using the most current evidence based treatment plans. I enjoy treating patients of all ages and musculoskeletal conditions, but my specialty interests include vestibular rehab and concussion treatment. I have even had the privilege of working with Parkinson's patients, using non-contact boxing techniques to challenge brain function, balance and mobility. I'm also certified in myofascial techniques, including dry needling.

See me for:

Acute and chronic musculoskeletal injuries, sports injuries, post surgical, vestibular/vertigo, concussion, balance, Parkinson's Disease and post stroke

Why I chose to become a PT

Growing up, I was always interested in health care and pursuing a career where I could help others. In high school, I sustained a severe cervical strain/sprain from a downhill skiing accident. I was in physical therapy for many months, and experienced the great restorative benefits of physical therapy. My physical therapist was extremely knowledgable, but also extremely kind and compassionate. I wanted to then pursue this field and help others rehabilitate after injury.

Worst injury I ever suffered: A severe cervical strain/sprain from a downhill skiing accident in high school

Craziest injury I have treated: A construction worker had a crane fall on his foot and broke his foot in 3 places

My favorite food to cook: I love to experiment with different chili recipes in the winter

If I could visit anywhere in the world: New Zealand

When I am not at work, I am (hobbies, interests, volunteering, etc.):

I love doing anything outdoors. I enjoy hiking and exploring all the different Wisconsin state parks, biking, and playing tennis. In the winter time I love to cross country ski, and am also a part of the Milwaukee curling club

Bucket List Confession: I have always wanted to try windsurfing

Best advice I’ve ever received:  OR My quote to live by: I am a huge Audrey Hepburn fan, and this quote from her really resonates with me, "Nothing is Impossible ... the word itself says "I'm Possible."
