DPT

I graduated with my Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2010 from Carroll University, where I ran track and cross country and played volleyball. My career began out west in Oregon where I received training in orthopedic manual therapy (NAIOMPT), Female Pelvic Floor Rehab (Herman & Wallace), and advanced training in ultrasound imaging for abdominal and pelvic floor rehab. While in Oregon, I was also fortunate to work alongside and receive mentorship from Jessica Dorrington, who is now a physical therapist for professional and Olympic runners.

When my family and I moved back to Wisconsin in 2014, I started a grassroots women’s health program with my employer and saw a variety of women's health and orthopedic patients in a health club environment. I then opened a private PT clinic, working alongside Choice Matters Midwife Collective. In the recent past, I have led community workshops and educational events with fitness professionals locally and beyond. I’m thrilled to join the Body Renovation team where I can continue to provide excellent one-on-one physical therapy care, and learn from a diverse team of therapists.

I enjoy seeing patients of all ages and diagnoses, working on individualized rehabilitation and wellness goals. My treatment philosophy is compassionate care with a blend of exercise plus hands-on/manual therapy, education and posture re-patterning. I see a variety of orthopedic patients and strive to uncover the underlying cause of one’s pain. I’m especially experienced in prenatal and postpartum physical therapy, all things core (including diastasis recovery and pelvic rehab) and women’s wellness exercise programs across the lifespan. As a past multi-sport college athlete and NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (2008-2020), I enjoy seeing athletes and runners of any age and skill.

See me for:  Prenatal and/or postpartum rehabilitation, female pelvic floor rehab, general orthopedics, sport-specific training, return-to-sport, running/gait analysis.

Why I chose to become a PT: I had PT in high school after a horseback riding injury and got an intro to the profession as a patient. Shortly thereafter, I helped my grandfather recover from an orthopedic surgery. His encouragement that I was "good at caring for others" paved the way.

Worst injury I ever suffered: I fell down a handful of bleacher steps at a college soccer game and injured my SI-joint, shoulder ... and pride.

Craziest injury I have treated: As a PT student, I saw a patient who could not bear weight through either of her legs nor one upper extremity. With external fixation devices at her ankle, pelvis and arm/elbow, it was my job to get her from the hospital bed to a chair.

My favorite food to cook/bake: As a past homeschool mom, I love finding ethnic recipes to cook with my kids; all while learning about different countries and cultures along the way.

If I could visit anywhere in the world: Greece

When I am not at work, I am: Spending time with my husband and three sons, hiking, trail running, biking, gardening, cooking and cheering for my boys at a soccer game.

Bucket List Confession: To homestead a cut flower garden in Hood River, Oregon.

My quote to live by: Let all that you do be done in love.
