Megan Wiley

As a long distance runner and dancer, I naturally gravitated towards orthopedics when I started my career after graduating from UW-Madison in 2012. However, after the birth of my third child where I experienced my own postpartum challenges, I made a shift and dove into the world of women’s health and pelvic floor ... and have pursued advanced training in this area ever since.  I combine advanced manual therapy techniques, dry needling, corrective exercise and movement retraining to deliver a unique whole body care for long-term relief.


I have always had a strong interest in whole health wellness, both personally and professionally, and completed a women’s integrative health coach certification program and certifications in perimenopause/menopause and chronic pelvic pain, all from the Integrative Women’s Health Institute (IWHI).  Additionally, I am certified in functional nutrition and functional gut testing through Restorative Wellness Solutions and IWHI where I continue to grow and pursue further training. I am able to integrate functional nutrition and lifestyle medicine into my practice and I take the time to truly listen to my patients to help them discover the root of their symptoms rather than a temporary band aid solution.  I believe in our body’s ability to heal and help empower my patients to tap into this so that they can have the energy, strength and confidence to do whatever they want to do in life that brings them joy. 


See me for: I feel truly called to help support those in the pregnancy or postpartum period or those with pelvic floor dysfunction, bowel or bladder challenges, post-hysterectomy, pelvic organ prolapse and those with pelvic pain conditions such as endometriosis or IBS.  I also enjoy working with those with orthopedic conditions, returning to sports or fitness or helping anyone in general get back to whatever it is that they enjoy doing.


Why I chose to be a PT: I became introduced to the world of PT in 8th grade after experiencing recurrent shoulder dislocations and throughout high school and college a few times for other injuries. PT was a perfect combination of combining my interests in fitness, the human body and working with people.


Worst Injury I suffered: As a runner, my injuries have been less dramatic and more chronic in nature. The weirdest one, however, is probably dealing with a chronic side stitch for almost 20 years.


Craziest injury I treated: There have been so many interesting people I've worked with over the years. One of the one's that stands out to me is working with a woman who had a complex foot surgery after she had climbed out of a second story window while sleepwalking.


Favorite foods to cook/bake: The past five years I have shifted to more of a paleo-esque diet due to some health challenges and it has been fun learning to bake and cook in a different way and discovering new foods. Additionally, I love baking cakes for my kids' birthdays. Somehow I started making theme cakes when my oldest turned 2 and every year since things get crazy in my kitchen three times per year when I'm baking and designing another one. Food Network has yet to call me and none of these will be showing up on Pinterest, but my kids and I are entertained. 


When I am not at work:  You can likely find me being active outdoors, cooking up something in my kitchen, traveling or hanging out with my friends, husband or three kids (which these days often involves me being on the sidelines for soccer games and dance competitions). 


Bucket-list confession: If I wasn't a PT, I think I'd want to own some sort of small town community farm-to-table restaurant with live music from local musicians, yard games, signature craft cocktails and amazing desserts. 


If I could visit anywhere in the world: All the places!  Top ones on my list are New Zealand, Austria, Banff and Ireland.
