Peter Arndt

DPT, CMTPT/DN, SFMA

I earned my Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Concordia University of Wisconsin. As an Orthopedic Physical Therapist, I have experience treating a broad range of musculoskeletal injuries, specializing in injury prevention screening and assessment to maximize recovery, fitness and performance.

I am a total geek for research on topics ranging from rehab science, strength and conditioning, health science, evolution, biology, physics and complex systems theory. It drives my family crazy hearing about the latest research I am reading. Luckily, I can channel this passion into patient care. In the clinic, my goal is to exceed a patient's expectations for what rehab can be. I enjoy working with my patient’s to improve motion, strength, and performance goals. But, the best part of my day is seeing my patient’s excited to return to their favorite activities and sports.

In the clinic, I share a space with Elite Sport and Spine Chiropractic owners Dr. Zach and Beth Shiels. It has been a great relationship over the past 5 years. We often collaborate on patient care and workshop difficult cases. I am very grateful to be working alongside such talented professionals.

I am married to Laura Culhane Arndt and have 4 children: Ella, Madeline, Jack and Harper. Laura teaches physical education at Silver Lake Intermediate school in the Oconomowoc School District. We love being a part of the lake country community. In our free time, we love strength training, alpine skiing, nordic skiing, road biking, mountain biking, and running.

See me for: Sport-specific training, Running injuries, low back pain, and generalized orthopedic injuries

Why I chose to become a PT: I became a physical therapist because I've always been intrigued by how our bodies work and how they can bounce back from injury. Seeing people regain their strength and mobility through therapy just clicked with me. I love being able to help folks get back on their feet, literally! I feel lucky to be part of their recovery journey and see them reach their goals. Plus, being a sports enthusiast myself, I enjoy helping athletes get back in the game after an injury. And physical therapy is always evolving with new research breakthroughs, constantly keeping me on my toes.

My favorite food to cook/bake: Sourdough Pizza in our outdoor oven

If I could visit anywhere in the world: The roof of the world in the Himalayas

Worst injury I ever suffered: Herniated disc

Craziest injury I have treated: A patient with arm amputation and leg reconstruction returning to the military

When I am not at work, I am: Alpine skiing, nordic skiing, mountain biking, hiking or spending times with my wife and kids

Bucket List Confession: I have always wanted to learn to kite board

My quote to live by: "Amor fati."
